ABOUT

If getting into the music industry now is a mistake, then Zach Pollakoff and Brian Kerr are in over their heads. Twenty-three and living the Brooklyn dream, the pair, better known as the brains and brawn behind twosyllable records, had always dreamt of putting albums out together. From their humble beginnings at WIUX in Bloomington, IN, to their current multiple roommate abode in Williamsburg, Zach and Brian have built this business from scratch. Now with 3 artists from around the country in tow and some experience to boot, twosyllable records is starting to take a life of its own.

Meet the staff!

Zach Pollakoff (co-owner) worked a year in the industry, slinging records to college radio stations, non-comm radio, and video outlets all at once. The time-consuming job taught him the ways of the industry and in the meantime, Zach was able to work some greats: The National - Boxer, Vampire Weekend - S/T, Times New Viking - Rip it Off, and more. You can often find Zach on his bike in Brooklyn and though he may come off like a nice guy, he thinks being “picky-as-fuck” is a compliment.

Brian Kerr (co-owner) a former talent buyer for NYC clubs, got his experience booking shows and festivals in college, where he drew crowds by the thousands for Sunset Rubdown, Xiu Xiu, and more, all while securing degrees in Business and Marketing, let alone interning for Secretly Canadian! His over-the-top excitability makes Richard Simmons look like Debbie Downer. It’s a blessing to find a business man with a born passion for number-crunching.

Ben Tousley (art director) a graphic designer and generally delightful human being, is unofficially married to Photoshop and polygamous with InDesign. His work with Grizzly bear is stunning. Check out his work on all twosyllable releases!!
